Model trains and railroads have been fascinating men and boys for over a century. You might begin with a basic layout then gradually build a replica of a real prototype railroad or maybe a freelance layout for realism within the limits of your available space. You will get hours of pleasure building a miniature world filled with locomotives, rolling stock, buildings, bridges, trackside industry, even entire cities, it is all up to you. Carefully building exact models of full size prototype locomotive engines and train cars adds realism to your layout and you will learn a lot about railroads in the process.
However, a word of caution, model railroading is addictive. Once you begin you will never be quite finished, but not to worry, we understand.
